Grant Kratofil began his career as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 and received his CA designation in 1993. Grant completed his articling at the firm of Grant Thornton and then moved to KPMG for approximately four years where he completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course. From 1998 to 2010, Grant was an Associate with Lee and Sharpe, CA's where he was responsible for their tax practice which involved providing income tax, GST/HST and estate planning services to their clients, primarily professionals and owner managed businesses:
- Family business succession planning
- Purchase/sale transactions
- Estate and trust planning
- Immigration/emigration issues for individuals
- Canadian tax compliance for non-residents
- Corporate income tax and SR&ED work
- CRA audit/appeal support
Grant has been a course lecturer and tutorial leader for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of B.C. School of Chartered Accountancy.
Grant has lived in Victoria since 1975. He has 3 teenage daughters. Grant is a partner and member of the board of directors of Level Ground Trading Ltd, one of Victoria's up-and-coming coffee manufacturing companies.
